Q&A with Heather:
First Concert Ever: I saw Journey in 1983 at the Meadowlands (NJ) when I was 12. My uncle got us 8th row tickets and b/c we were late to the show, I ended up walking in while Steve Perry was already on stage singing. I instantly fell in love. He’s been my #1 life-crush ever since.
Family: I’ve been married over 2 decades to Scott, a Deputy Chief/Firefighter. My stepson is Derek (he’s even married now) and then there’s our sons, Jack and Dylan. Both are currently in college.
What about pets? I’m a crazy dog lover, and we’re currently on our “3rd administration.” We had Emmett and Gibson (both Goldens), Tackett and Gus (both rescue Labs), and now we have Jett (a rescue Lab Mix) and Goose (a long-haired-Jack Russell something or other mixed with who knows what).
TV shows? I really LOVE watching TV. Series (Ted Lasso), period pieces (Downton Abby, The Gilded Age), thrillers, true-crime, docs, biopics… but my current absolute fave is Outlander and now Outlander: Blood of my Blood. I even set up a fan page on Facebook and Instagram called “Outlandish Heather” & every once in a while, I get to interview the cast, and it’s amazing.
Sports? I’m a hockey fan! Love the game. Never played it myself. Ok, I did once, and I was terrible. I’m also a Hockey Mom. My son Jack is a goalie for the Boston University Club Ice and Roller Teams, and he’s also a Professional Roller Hockey goalie. If only he made NHL-like $$!
Biggest interviews: I’ve had an amazing radio career and have met so many celebs! In the past decade, I’ve had some big ones, too, like Elton John and Billy Joel! My biggest interview though, was with Steve Perry. I’ve talked with him in person and on the phone, and it never gets old.
Fave Foods: I’m in a relationship with pasta. We love each other very much. I will also never say no to shrimp, anything with coconut (especially piƱa coladas), and toffee.
Travel: My “best trip ever” happened in 2024 when I went to Scotland and England with my boys and Scott. I also love Ireland. I would move to Europe if I could, but I’d miss my family too much.
Things that make me happy: Growing flowers in the backyard, being creative, spooning with my dogs, listening to anyone with a Scottish/Irish/English accent, being spontaneous & stumbling on something amazing, my boys’ laughter, and solving the Wordle.
