Q&A with Joe:
Favorite concert moment? The one that always comes to mind is Tom Petty at Darien Lake in 2008. Through the rain, lightning, and power outages Petty kept on rockin’ with an incredible performance and gave the audience an unforgettable memory.
Other than the Bills, what sports do you watch? Yankees baseball tops the list. Also love to watch Jess Pegula play tennis and if it’s Winter Olympics time, short-track speed skating is awesome!
Any secret talents? I’m not sure it’s a talent or a secret, but I know a lot more about garlic that I probably should! My brother and his wife run a garlic farm in Northern New York, so it’s become a family affair planting and harvesting around 20,000 hardneck garlic plants every year.
What’s your ultimate vacation? After talking about it for years, we finally made our way to Italy and Sicily. It was an incredible journey as we visited Venice, Rome, Florence and my three ancestral towns in Sicily — Collesano, Sclafani Bagni and Francavilla di Sicilia.
What are some of your favorite shows to watch? Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Bosch, Homeland, The Americans, Jack Ryan were all great. Back in the day, Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere made big impressions on me.
Favorite thing to do when you’re not working? We try to catch local live music as often as we can. There are so many great little venues and incredibly talented local musicians around WNY.
Dogs or cats? We have two of each, but it’s our rescue dogs Bella and Jorge that keep us on our toes and are a constant source of entertainment.
Favorite Movie To Quote? It’s gotta be Christmas Vacation — filled with classic lines!
Best Thing About Western New York? Buffalo is big enough for professional sports and major concerts, but small enough that you run into someone you know almost anywhere you go.
Do you have a favorite hobby? I love family history and have become a bit of a genealogy geek, solving one mystery at a time!
If you were on Jeopardy, what categories do you NOT want to come up? If Nursery Rhymes, Medieval Times, Opera, and The Bible all come up in the first round, I’m sunk!
