Q&A with Laura:
Where are you from? Born and raised in Jamestown, NY, I got my Bachelor’s degree at SUNY Fredonia and then spent 15 years in Albany, NY radio. I moved back to WNY in 2012 and it’s so good to be home!
What’s always in your fridge? Ketchup, cottage cheese, a hunk of Parmigiano Reggiano from Whole Foods.
What’s your superpower? Quoting the Golden Girls in almost any situation, tripping over my own feet, and overthinking something I said 35 years ago.
What are some of your favorite High School memories? Performing with the JHS Marching Band on Late Night with David Letterman; playing Lina Lamont in our High School production of Singing in the Rain
Who are the three nicest celebrities you’ve met? Gary Sinise, Robby Takac, Kelly Clarkson (Jason Mraz, John Leguizamo and Gilbert Gottfried also come to mind!)
What celebrity do you want to meet the most? Josh Allen
Where has your favorite vacation been so far? Saint Martin
Dogs or cats? I love almost all animals but if I had to pick, I’m crazy dog lady!
Three favorite WNY restaurants? Jazzboline, Prescott’s Provisions, Taste of India
What local charities do you support? Oishei Children’s Hospital, City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
What are some unusual things about you? I’ve officiated weddings; I can recite all 50 states alphabetically in less than 30 seconds; I’m double-jointed in my left thumb
Who do you spend the most time with? My (CRAZY) chocolate lab, Charlie
What are some of your favorite older TV shows? Besides the Golden Girls, Absolutely Fabulous, Seinfeld and any cooking show
Favorite authors? Currently on a Glennon Doyle kick
What time do you get up for work? 3:45am…and no, you never really get used to it!
What did you want to be when you were a kid? I waffled between librarian, veterinarian, interior designer and short stop for the NY Yankees…
