Roger Waters – Is This The Life We Really Want?

Release Date: June 2nd

After a 25 year hiatus from releasing new music, Roger Waters returned to the studio to record 12 brand new songs.  Since Waters has always been known for his political critiques, it is not a surprise that the new album is focused on the political chaos that has been occurring around the world.

Nigel Godrich, famous producer of U2, Beck, and Radiohead, was chosen by Waters to produce this special album.  On Roger Waters instagram account (@rogerwaters), you can see a video of the two teasing one of the new songs on the album, with Waters playing along with his signature bass.  (Link to video down below)

Along with the album, Waters is embarking on a lengthy tour that stretches from late May into late October. Waters writes on his website, “It’ll be a mixture of stuff from my long career, stuff from my years with Pink Floyd, some new things. Probably 75% of it will be old material and 25% will be new, but it will be all connected by a general theme. It will be a cool show, I promise you. It’ll be spectacular like all my shows have been.”
