Erie County SPCA: “Name Your Adoption Fee” Event

DJ the Wonder Dog, Halloween 2011

If you’ve got room in your animal-pumpkin patch, this one’s for you!

Between October 24 and October 31, you can adopt a dog or cat (age 1+) for your own suggested adoption fee at the SPCA Serving Erie County! The fee includes the animal’s spay/neuter, vaccines, initial worming, microchipping and more…including a free bag of dog or cat food.

This special is available at the SPCA’s Harlem Road location in West Seneca from 11am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday (October 24 – 31, 2022).

300 Harlem Road, West Seneca, NY 14224

Shelters all over WNY are packed with loving animals waiting for their fur-ever home, especially since the pandemic. If you’re not able to add another set of paws to your household right now, please consider making a donation.

On a personal note, I’d like to ask for a special consideration: when you adopt an animal, it’s for their lifetime. “Seasonal adoptions” (e.g. getting a rabbit around Easter or a black cat around Halloween, only to turn around and return the animal a few weeks later) breaks my heart. An animal is a family member, companion and unconditional friend, not a holiday decoration.

Please make the decision to adopt a thoughtful one, and a lasting one. <3 LD
