Sts. Cyril and Methody Macedonian Orthodox Church's 20th Annual Festival (Festival)

Location: 4785 Lake Ave. Blasdell, NY 14219

Dive into the Macedonian culture this July 9-11 at the 20th annual Macedonian Festival at Sts. Cyril and Methody Macedonian Orthodox Church! Enjoy some unique meals and desserts; try authentic Macedonian beer and wine; play some games with your kids; and dance the night away to the folk music of the wonderful live bands! The festival begins on Friday, July 9th at 6pm. The hours for each day are as follows: Friday the 9th: 6pm-12am; Saturday the 10th: 11am-12am; and Sunday the 11th: 1pm-11pm. Admission is $1 per person. The festival will host famous Macedonian singers, bands, and ethnic dance groups from around the world! There will be a variety booth with concessions and games for kids as well as an indoor bakery filled with homemade Macedonian treats, like Baklava! We will hold a 50/50 split raffle, for which you can buy tickets upon arrival. All are welcome to tour the parish and to check out the artful cultural displays in the hallway. The festival is a great time for all ages!

Free Program, Money & Me, Gives Teens Money Management Skills (Education)

For five mornings this summer, beginning June 29th, BMFCU (Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union) is providing teens lessons on financial responsibility through Money & Me. Money & Me is a hands-on experience that teaches teenagers the basics of money management and how to make it work for them. The workshop covers budgeting, credit advantages and pitfalls, responsible checking account habits, how to save for a big purchase and investing for the future. As an advocate of teaching financial literacy to the community, BMFCU encourages teens to participate in this great opportunity.Participants will receive a $10.00 iTunes gift card and a letter of reference teens can use for college & job applications. An opening deposit to the Credit Union's teen account program will also be rewarded to any participants wishing to open a Savings Account.
