The Buffalo Bandettes announce today they will be holding an audition from 12-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at Catalyst Fitness, 1402 French Rd., Depew. Bandettes Program Coordinator is looking for 12 passionate dancers who not only want to perform at every home game of the 2020 Bandits season, but give back to the community and be role models to a younger generation of dancers.
Interested dancers are asked to bring a headshot and $25 (cash or check) upon arrival. Doors open at 12 p.m. and walk-ins are welcome (pre-registration is encouraged).
Group stretch will begin at 12:20 p.m. followed by across the floor technique and one minute of choreography. Judges will be observing auditions throughout the process, so dancers are encouraged to wear a half top, dance shorts, tights and sneakers. Hair and make-up should be performance ready. Dress to impress!
The judges will select 20 candidates to move forward to callbacks on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019. On this day, remaining candidates should arrive in professional attire as they will be interviewed by the Bandettes Program Coordinator Lauren Kirchmyer as well as Human Resources. The 2020 team will be announced that evening.
Prepare for auditions by attending a prep class from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Catalyst Fitness. There is a cost of $25 to attend the class.
The 2020 Bandettes dance team will practice from 8:30-10:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Catalyst Fitness. The first practice will take place Tuesday, Oct. 15, where dancers will receive contracts and tentative schedules.
