Autism Awareness Walk Information

Autism Affects 1 in 110 Children and 1 in 70 Boys!

Please join Classic Hits 104.1 and the staff, students, and families of Summit Education Resources for the 2010 Autism Awareness Walk. We walk together to support children and young adults with autism and related developmental disabilities. The Walk will start at Summit Educational Resources, 150 Stahl Road, and walk along the picturesque Amherst Bike path.

Registration: 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
Walk Begins: 10:00 a.m.
Picnic with food, beverages, bounce houses, entertainment, and children's activities immediately following the Walk.


This event is designed to raise awareness and raise funds for Western New York children attending Summit Educational Resources. You can recruit team members and help create awareness in our community about autism. The first 1000 walkers to arrive will receive a complimentary t-shirts. A post-event party with refreshments, entertainment, bounce houses, and a kids crafts area, will be open to everyone that attends the walk.

1. Register: Visit our registration web site at http://summitwalk2010.kintera.org to take pledges and register online.

2. Form A Team: Have fun and organize your own walk team. Teams can be comprised of two people or 100 people. Name your team and create your own T-shirts or buttons to wear on walk day. Tell your friends and relatives by registering your team online at http://summitwalk2010.kintera.org. Prizes will be awarded to the team with the most walkers and the most creative T-shirt.

3. Raise Funds: Collect, monitor and make pledges easily at http://summitwalk2010.kintera.org. Please submit your pledges on or before April 23, 2010 and then enjoy the walk day knowing your support will further our ability to better the lives of our students.
